Newborns

I love, love, love spending time with newborns!  They are absolutely my favorite part of photography.  There is just nothing quite like a brand new, sweet little one to make us remember how beautiful this life is!

Below are some common questions that might help you decide if I'm the right newborn photographer for you:

What kind of pictures should I expect?
There are several different types of newborn photographers; I fall more into the "lifestyle" photography category.  In other words, I'm not a "put them in a vase" or "haul in lots of props" kinda gal.  I want your baby's pictures to be timeless and to capture the little baby moments that are so fleeting. Your newborn's nursery, a sweet snuggle between baby and parents, adoring siblings, close up details of teeny fingers and toes, and a little yawn or a new baby smile all go together to make lasting beautiful images.

How long does a newborn session last?
Amidst the joy and miracle of welcoming your new baby comes lots of diaper changing, feedings, burping, crying, etc.  I allow 2-3 hours for a newborn session because I want your family to feel totally at ease.  Please know that I understand that we'll be taking multiple breaks for you to do whatever your little one needs.

Where does a session take place?
I come to your home for the session.  I have four little ones of my own and am very familiar with the happy chaos of having a newborn.  There is barely time to shower when you first have your baby, let alone clean your house!  Please, please, please leave it "as is" for me.  I can easily move some things to the side in whatever room we're in.

When should I contact you?
It's best to photograph newborns in their first 8 days to catch them when they are still at their sleepiest.  To help make sure we capture your little one in that window of time, please contact me prior to the birth of your baby to discuss details.

Feel free to contact me at katiefenskaphotography@gmail.com if you have any other questions.  It's an honor for me to be considered as you search for a newborn photographer.  Congratulations on the incredible gift of life growing inside of you!
